Who Are We?

Summer Jam 2000
Salem Civic Center
Salem, VA
-Ellen

It was packed (maybe 4000?) Dad says the civic center holds 5000, so maybe close to 5000? Sounds too good to be true. Starting off was the band Shine, 4 girls from England who had great-choreographed dance moves. Their looks kind of reminded me of the Spice Girls, but dressed modestly (their silver sequenced outfits shined to go with their name). They had a great blend that was fun. Next was Jonathan Pierce, who had a great voice, and Big Tent Revival who were very good. Next up was Rebecca St. James. She started with "Omega". She read verses about being the salt of the earth. She is working on a new project to be released in spring. After Rebecca was New Song, who has been around for awhile, and is made of 8 guys. Some band members really wanted to jump around. This band seems to have a lot of energy. They did one song with kind of a blues sound. I think they are more adult contemporary, but in concert they were very good.

The concert's purpose was to do 20 cities as an out reach kind of thing. To get those who normally wouldn't go to a Christian concert to attend.
