The Elms classic rock sound is "rockingly refreshing," at a time when pop music and soundtrack artists dominate. ItÕs great to have a traditional sounding band with the four essentials of rock and roll. The band names a lot of secular influences that can be heard in their music. They claim that they are not attempting to create their own genre, but they are just doing what they do best, rock Ðn- roll.

To me, a truly great rock and roll band has to pass one significant musical test, that being the rock ballad. The Elms have met this challenge and the title track, "The Big Surprise" is an awesome ballad with contained power and energy that builds up to an explosive chorus.
