All Right Here Sara Groves, in her new record, “All Right Here”, takes a walk down memory lane through the path God has led her on. As a wife, mother, songwriter, and storyteller, Groves uses her gifts of music and writing lyrics to bring glory to God through the tale of her life story. Sara first felt God leading her down the music path while attending her grandfather’s funeral, as she sat and listened to story after story of how people’s lives were changed through his preaching and life. Although he did not have a Bible degree, he knew his calling, and trusted God to lead him wherever he needed to follow. It was at this realization that Sara, who was a Minnesota school teacher at the time, felt God light a fire in her heart to use her God-given gifts to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and reach as many people as she could. Although Sara’s last release, “Conversations”, was a record with devotions as the focus, this new release has a different spin on it. “All Right Here,” focuses on the Christian’s entire life. The lyrics are set as a personal reflection of Sara, but after listening to the music, and reading the lyrics, they are sure to spark something personal within whomever will take the music to heart. Sara is just amazing! Her lyrics; work as a pianist, and her music are filled to the brim with truth. She has a refreshing style, which takes on many shades as song after song reflects on a life devoted to God. While Sara was a New artist of the year nominee, s he has been recognized in many ways. Her voice is calming and can bring tears to a listener’s eyes. Although it is virtually impossible to pick out any song as a favorite, there are three, which really touched me. “Fly” is a song about Sara’s relationship with her husband. It is about a love grounded in Christ, which expresses Sara’s true love. “You Did That For Me” is another favorite. The lyrics are great, and it reminds us of the love God showed through his son coming to earth. Also, “You Cannot Lose My Love” because if nothing else, it touched me so deeply that I found myself crying for no other reason than the beauty of the words and music. This new release is definitely one that should not be overlooked! -Amanda M. |
