Sometimes a band has to make tough choices to either adapt or give up. When that band has a strong belief in God's will then there is no better choice than to adapt and overcome. The days of the Supertones pure "ska" and dominant horn section are slowly being transformed into more of a pop-rock sound.

The horn section still plays a major supporting role, and the Supertones new sound revival is a success. One difference I noticed was that "Hi-Fi Revival" was more "fun-rock." Between the funk of "Superfly" and the bouncy "Welcome Home" I was dancing and grinning from ear to ear.

One thing is for sure the lyrics are uncompromising and theologically based. Favorites include the soulful ballad "Hold On To Jesus," "Go Go Go," and "Forever." The sound is revitalizing, the lyrics are uplifting, and the overall feeling is extreme fun and sun! "Hi-Fi Revival" is just what you would expect from Southern California.
