E-Praise fills another gap in the realm of Christian music; Dance. Swedish duo Erik Augustasson (Ultrabeat) and Hannah Westin (New Born Soul) were brought together to fill this gap, and have done so with a dance club sound while maintaining the integrity of praise classics.

E-Praise probably won't cause a major paridiam shift in the US dance scene, but its fresh beats and creative melodies will please the sporadic fans. (Planting that seed.) Creativity is abundant throughout the CD and Erik has managed to set each song apart musically.

The coolest thing is that you already know the words so it's easier to follow the beat. If you're not into dance/techno, but you like the praise classics, then you will probably be able to tolerate E-Praise in bits and pieces. If you're into the dance scene and looking for a fresh energetic twist to your praise and worship then you'll be able to tolerate it a whole lot more. Some of the best are "God Of Wonders," "Open The Eyes Of My Heart," and "I Love You Lord." Admittedly, my liking of these particular tracks comes more from Hannah's beautiful vocals (which equal the power of the techno beat) than the beat itself. However, I can image the dry ice fog, intelligent lighting, and jam packed dance floor.

I have to resist the temptation to slip E-Praise into the church sound system at the end of Sunday service... or maybe I don't?
