Inspirational Favorites Keith Perry Curb Records "Inspirational Favorites" is a collection of mostly traditional gospel songs with a few new arrangements by Keith Perry. Much of the inspiration for Keith has come from the memories of his late mother. The one song on the CD that was written by Perry is "Mama Was Right," reflecting on the loving advice of a mother; that we sometimes don't put much thought into at the time, but later proves to be true. This collection comes shortly after Perry's freshman release on Curb Records and was the idea of company owner Mike Curb. Perry returns the favor by recording "How Great Thou Art" specifically for Mike. Also included on the CD is the pepped up "Jesus Hold My Hand," "Old Rugged Cross," and the "gettin' down" bluegrass "Walkin' In Jerusalem." Perry's desire is to sing country, but his roots are in Gospel as that is what he was raised on. The songs selected are truly inspirational greats. Add to that Perry's deep vocals, renewed arrangements, and motivations and you have a commendable project. - Ken W. |
