Who Are We?

Storm

Storm
Fernando Ortega
Word

Ortega is an inspired musician that likes to sing about human conditions. Storms are a huge part of that human condition and we can all relate. However "Storm" isn't just about bad times, it's about the "Light Of Heaven" and "Our Great God." Even the song "Storm" isn't about bad times but about believing in God in good or bad times.

Some of the other finer points on "Storm" are "Our Great God," a Fernando and Mac Powell collaboration, with a musical arrangement brought to you in part by Steve Hindalong, and the Third Day influence can certainly be felt. One of Ortega's favorites is "Traveler" because of his experiences touring and being on the road a lot. This song has taken a special place in my heart because the first time I heard this song I was sitting at an airport somewhere near Greece awaiting a tour of duty in Saudi Arabia.

Ortega is also known for favoring old hymns and on "Storm" he pairs up with Amy Grant on "Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy." He also closed out the CD very appropriately with a hymn, "Jesus Paid It All."
