Prisoners of Hope Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer were thrust into our hearts and prayers last August 2001 when they were imprisoned in Afghanistan. The two Shelter Now International Relief workers were eventually rescued by US Special Forces in November of 2001, a real miracle. While being held captive the two women sang worship songs to carry them through the days, and they thought; 'if we get out of here, wouldn't it be neat to make a CD of the worship songs that have helped us the most and use the proceeds to help re-build Afghanistan!' Making the most of every opportunity, the women along with producers Jeff Moseley and Wes Yoder put together "Prisoners Of Hope". The CD features well known worship songs including "Come Fall On Us", "What A Friend I've Found", and "Jesus, Lover of My Soul", as well as "Fear Not" which was written by Curry during their captivity. "Prisoners of Hope" supports the release of their book, "Prisoners of Hope: The Story of Our Captivity and Freedom in Afghanistan." - Ken W. |
