Cry Holy "Cry Holy" is weak and not at all what I anticpated from the usual ground breaking sound of Sonicflood. More emphasis is put on the vocals and very little on the music, making it a very ordinary mix of new and classic worship songs. Two things are missing from "Cry Holy." First is the passion that was expressed in the riviting sounds of the sonic past. Secondly, there appears to be very little participation regards to writing, as band leader Rick Heil is only credited with co-writing two songs on the CD. The CD could have been a hit if only they had built on the title track and "Shelter" as the foundation of the album instead of watering down the soundtrack as they did through out most of the CD. - Ken W. |
