Tales of the Knife
Lucerin Blue
Tooth & Nail Records

"Tales of the Knife" starts out very aggressively with screaming hard rock vocals on "Game." However the chorus of "Game" is a little more toned down, setting the stage for the rest of the album which fluctuates between hard rock screaming and melodic rock vocals. Even when the vocals come down a notch, the soundtrack still retains that metal edge with extensive guitar leads.

Some people may find it hard to get past the screeching metal, but the intermittent melodies help to ease you in and out of those moments. The complexity and poetry of the song lyrics combined with the eclectic soundtrack makes Lucerin Blue a truly distinctive band.

"Tales of the Knife" isn't for the faint of heart or the casual listener. To really enjoy it you have to have a taste for metal and melodic rock.
