Nazarene Crying Towel The Lost Dogs have been around for a long time and many times their style has changed. My wife Ellen, a Cornerstone veteran, could hardly believe it when she heard their latest "Nazarene Crying Towel." Mostly because it was so close to country and not what she remembered. However, Ellen did note that Terry Scott Taylor wrote very heartfelt songs, and "Nazarene Crying Towel" is very heart wrenching and stems from a personal relationship with Terry's grandmother. The slow-simple tones of "Nazarene Crying Towel" reflect the tenderness of the writer. Though troubles and despair have influenced this thematic collection there comes a hope... a hope found in God alone. "Deeper In The Heart" and "Cry Out Loud" strike it up a bit with more of a Tom Petty and Country-Blues sound respectively but for the most part "Nazarene Crying Towel" is old-country mixed with folk guitars. Making a rare but enjoyable mix. - Ken W. |
