Here In America Get ready to know the late Rich Mullins in a very intimate and personal way. Reunion Records has compiled an amazing amount of rare audio and video from Mullins’ live performances between 1984-87. Both the audio and video productions were recorded “as-is” and though they are not studio-glossed they are very real. On the audio CD you can actually hear as Mullins teaches the audience the chorus to “Awesome God,” for the first time ever. “Hear In America” also includes original BMG song demos such as “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Never Heard the Music,” previously unreleased. As well as a live version of “None Are Stronger,” which has not been release before either. The DVD “Here In America” has both live performances with the Ragamuffins as well as a very rare question and answer session between Mullins and a long time friend and collaborator, Beaker. The videos include extended intros that help the listener to understand the feeling behind the song and where it came from. The interview section of the DVD was done with a live audience and not by a professional interviewer. Therefore the questions and answers are straightforward in regards to Mulllins’ life, love, music, and faith. These answer sessions are challenging even today as you listen to Mullins explain the “Worship Buzz,” “Perfection is Boring,” and “A Reason To Party.” Another amazing aspect of this monumental project is the fact that many companies and individuals had to come together to make this happen. They had to put down the business gloves and put out their hearts on this project. Royalties from “Here In America” are being donated to Kid Brothers of St Frank, Co, an organization created by the Mullins’ family to help underprivileged children and families. “Here In America” is an authentic scrapbook collection of songs and stories that are a true blessing to hold on to and treasure. Get beyond the entertainment of the usual CD/DVD collections and get to know a person who after his death has had a greater impact on the world then many have had while they are still alive. |
