Chris Rice is like a counselor, or youth pastor, that just knows you and makes you feel good. The sound of his voice is enough to bring sunshine to your day.

Rice has two sides musically; the first is a soft, warm sound and secondly a more vibrant folk-pop sound that is lighthearted and encouraging. Two examples are, “The Other Side of the Radio” a thoughtful tune depicting the distance between artist and listener. Secondly, “Untitled Hymn” which is a beautiful hymn that walks through stages of life from birth to death and always encourages the listener to rely on Jesus. To paraphrase, Come to Jesus, sing to Jesus, fall on Jesus, cry to Jesus, dance for Jesus, and fly to Jesus.

The gifts of writing bestowed upon Chris Rice have been and continue to be exceptionally encouraging.
