Generations “Generations” wraps up over 15 years of Rene Vasquez’s (Peace586) passage through Christian hip-hop. The album brings together a collaboration of hip-hop artists from, you guessed it, many generations. It features today’s leaders Pigeon John, Raphi, Remnant; and yesterday’s greats I.D.O.L., King and Noel Arthurton (Dynamic Twins), Sup the Chemist, Jon Gibson; futures Propaganda, Dokument, and Saturday Night Freestyle. This is not a complete list of collaborators, but it makes the point. Whatever generation it might be, the main representation given here is the impact of Peace586 over the years, not just on other artists but on the fans. The messages are a combination of Christ-centered praises and personal statements of conviction. Such as “Love’s Still There” which plays out a message of hope in Christ and “Respect” which raps about giving respect to the old-school rappers that opened doors for Christian hip-hop. “Generations” is a message of unity within the Christian hip-hop community with a goal of bringing Christ to places in the world most of us can’t imagine.
