Offerings II Say what you want about beating the modern worship movement to the ground - because I have! Then when you're done, pop in "Offerings II" and get over it! Third Day has again wowed this listener with some of the most rockin' praise and worship to date. Like the first rendition aptly titled "Offerings" the best tracks are the live tracks. The raw energy dispersed from the live performance is enough to charge the sleepy worshiper. There is also a sense from the live tracks that these songs are performed strictly for the glory of God. Of course that doesn't mean that the other half of the CD that was recorded in the studio isn't praise worthy. "Sing A Song," "You Are So Good To Me," and "The Everlasting" are all wonderfully produced studio tracks with the chemistry to be energetic and lively stage songs. So, even though I believe Third Day could record praise and worship blindfolded, with one arm tied behind their backs, "Offerings II" is no slacker album, and even though praise and worship bands have come and gone since their first "Offerings," Third Day continues to be at the head of the pack. - Ken W. |
