"Quietude" is traditional folk rock with soft harmonies and acoustic guitars. It's so traditional that you would have guessed it was recorded in the late 60's early 70's.

The Joyful Sorrow sound is instrumental and the harmonies are often done in a monotone vocal. Steven and Heather Zydek, who make up the core of Joyful Sorrow are Eastern Orthodox Christians. To them, each song is spiritual in nature and they consider them to be musical icons, dedications to various saints.

"Quietude" is serene and organic. It is not your typical mainstream christian sound. It's a vessel of peace and tranquility and at the same time thought provoking and meditative.
