Soundtrack to a Revolution The return of The Insyderz seems very timely as Five Iron Frenzy is hanging it up, and The Supertones are toning down their former SKA sound. There is a history with the Detroit based Insyderz that I'm not familiar with, but after a three year hiatus the band has joined forces again to knock the socks off you with thundering horns and impacting lyrics. The vocals deliver the message of the gospel very intently. The Insyderz do a great job of keeping the sound original with a punked up high-energy sound. One exception to that statement is "Shout Out," which sounds a lot like a Kid Rock tune. Most importantly I love the equal focus of music and ministry I hear in these songs. Igniting a revolution isn't easy, but The Insyderz are serious about doing just that. - Ken W. |
