Pivitplex "Under Museum Quality Glass," the Pivitplex debut on BEC Recordings is a heartfelt rock-gospel album. Probably one of the best I've heard in a long time. Their classic-rock sound stands out in a growing crowd of new rock bands, and their lyrics are straight forward. While the main focus of todays industry seems to be leaning more towards "crossing over," it's a pleasure to hear a band that's just presenting the gospel plain and simple. It's even more of a pleasure when it's done as well as it is with Pivitplex. Don't just take my word for it. Go to www.pivitplex.com and hear it for yourself, or better yet catch them on the road with Jonah 33 and the "Will Play For Food" tour! - Ken W. |

1. What's in the name? (Pivitplex) "Pivot", think it looks cool spelled p-i-v-i-t, is all about turning, changing your heart and your mind. When we repent, we turn from our own way. We turn around and Jesus is right there waiting for us. "plex" means many, basically. It is used for a suffix on many businesses: Autoplex, Cineplex, and Funplex, You could take it as, we are selling or offering change, or you could take literally to mean many hearts and minds being changed. 2. How would you describe your style/sound? We are a rock band. As we write songs, they seem to sound a bit "classic". We get compared to everyone from Boston and The Beach Boys to Audio Adrenaline and Fountains of Wayne. 3. What brought the group together? I started writing songs after my second year of college, our guitar player Eddie Frank, is my brother-in-law. He started helping me perform my songs. We played for kids at the Christian camp my dad directs and got a great response. This really helped spread the word. Scott Wilber grew up with my wife, he became our drummer, and he found Josh Ogle leading the worship band at Campus Crusade at Montana State University. 4. What does it mean to be "Under Museum Quality Glass"? I have a friend who is a professional golfer. His wife was showing me a picture of all of the living U.S. Open winners, which he is one of. She said she even put it under museum quality glass. I'd never heard of that before and thought it was cool. It is a reference to how precious we are to God. 5. Where is God leading the band today? We are taking everything a day at a time. We are getting ready for the spring leg of our tour with downhere and Jonah 33. The tour is called The Will Play for Food Tour and is sponsored by Food for the Hungry and Air 1 along with other local radio stations. (dates can be found at www.inconcert.org or www.pivitplex.com) We want to show the world that God is good and that Jesus changed our lives. We want to honor God with our creativity. |
