Who Are We?

Rowe

George Rowe
Think About That
Rocketown Records

This is a very pleasant and contemplative record from the lawyer-turned Christian singer.

The title track has a 1970s-era Stevie Wonder feel while "Swerve" features a nice upright bass. You've probably heard "Everlasting" on Christian radio. The first time I heard the song, I thought it was Jody McBrayer of Avalon, whom Rowe cites as one of many influences on his own musical style.

"We Exalt You" has a jazzy piano. There's nothing real profound in the lyrics here but they are centered. For example, "My Prayer" let's us know that "Lord use me, not to be loved but to love, show me your way, I desire to do your will, not to be known but to know you."

Fans of other adult contemporary singer/songwriters such as Michael W. Smith and Chris Rice will not be disappointed in this debut record.
