Justin McRoberts When listening to Justin McRoberts and thinking about his music I would tend to put him in a power trio with Bebo Norman and Andrew Peterson. Of the three of them, Justin McRoberts is the quiet one. Justin's current release, "Intersections" is his fifth studio release and his third independent release. The last time I personally remember hearing from Justin was in 2001 when I spent a moment with him on the tour bus when he was out on the Back Forty Tour with Jennifer Knapp. "Intersections" carries on McRoberts' commitment to honest and personal song writing/storytelling. His style goes from acoustic pop of "Haunted" to the funky "Qualifications For Love." The overall experience of "Intersections" is defined by McRoberts and his guitar, but there is an accompanying soundtrack that is present, but not overbearing. For the U2 fans, McRoberts does a first-rate job of covering "One." This whole album sounds great and as a singer/songwriter McRoberts goes beyond the hype and flare and gets right down to earth where the common person is everyday. - Ken W. |
