"The Christ - His Passion" is part one of a trilogy of CD's set to release over the next year. The next two releases will be in the Fall of 2004 and Spring of 2005.

On this first CD songs were taken from the highly successful "City On a Hill" series that highlight the majesty of Christ. There are three original songs on "His Passion," and the next two releases are reported to have more original material.

More or less, "The Christ - His Passion" is keyed for the marketing of "The Passion of the Christ" movie. Liner notes from the CD contain a letter from Mel Gibson in regards to the movie The Passion of the Christ.

Essential has always been successful at putting together compilations, but in this case if you own all of the "City on a Hill" CD's I don't know if three more (new/original) songs make it worth the purchase. One thing in particular I didn't like about the new CD packaging is that on the back it only says "certain" tracks were taken from the "City On a Hill" series. Without comparing the previous series one by one, I really couldn't know what songs were new and which were previously released.
