Urban D's music ministry began in 1996 when he founded a youth ministry at Crossover Community Church, in Tampa, Florida. The focus of the ministry is to reach the hip-hop generation. Urban D's ministry is backed up by his life experience. At a young age he was involved in break dancing and rapping, and at the age of 18 Urban D, who was raised in a christian family, recommitted his life to Christ and headed off to Bible College at Southeastern College. There he earned a BA in Pastoral Theology, with an emphasis in Youth Ministry.

"The Immigrant" is Urban D's third national release and its style ranges from Latin to East Coast hip-hop. His raps are infused with positive messages and the Gospel. The album has a conceptual story line that comes from Peter's writings in the New Testament where Peter describes life here as temporary, and we are all aliens here, and how our ultimate home is heaven.

I'm extremely impressed with the wisdom that Urban D vocalizes on "The Immigrant," but more so, I'm impressed with his ministry and how well he presents the Gospel in a language that is foreign to most.
