Rachael Lampa
Self-Titled
Word Records

After what seems like an eternity, Rachael Lampa is back with her 3rd studio album. Although it hasn't been that long since her last release, or even since her debut in 2000, but there was much anticipation for this CD.

Lampa's new self-titled CD shows a great deal growth and maturity in her musical abilities beyond her key vocals. On this CD you will find a diverse range of styles including pop-rock, funk, and adult-contemporary. You will also find that Lampa has taken some ownership by co-writing on all the songs. The songs reflect the many changes in Rachael's life from High School graduation, moving from home (Colorado) to Nashville, and life on the road for the past few years.

Some of the key tracks include the funky "Rubberhouse" which features rapper T-Bone. "Rubberhouse" lyrically tackles the notion of a house made of rubber where everyone fits in, and if they don't the house will stretch to accommodate. The song, "When I Fall" showcases Lampa's passionate vocals with a catchy chorus, as she sings of letting God break our fall when we face our mistakes and troubles. My favorite song is "The Art," a soft piano ballad that gives me goose bumps. Lampa states that "The Art" comes from her experiences with coping with pain and suicide, as she has met survivors and had personal touch with those who have lost the battle.

Like many of her teenie-bopper-boy-band counterparts Rachael Lampa has matured musically, and grown from the grinding experience of life in the spotlight. Her new self-titled debut is a pivotal point in Rachael's life and career. This CD was well worth the wait.
