I was very fortunate to come across Flatfoot 56 playing at Lifest this past summer. Flatfoot is a very hard/punk band with Irish influences and I’ve never seen anyone rock harder with bag pipes! I picked up their CD “Knuckles Up” and it’s an awesome CD with rapid fire songs interlaced with screaming vocals (similar to Lemmie of Motorhead), and interlaced with the bag pipes.

There isn’t much of a bio on their web site and I didn’t get to meet them personally so I don’t know a lot of details, but you can find lyrics and audio on their website. I’d say if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary these guys are it. The music is hard and the bag pipes are an attention-grabbing addition. This is not your grandmothers “Amazing Grace.”
