This is the first of four CD's that will be released between October 2004 through June 2005. Who better to put together a collection of this magnitude than CCM Magazine? The collection will surely not be definitive for everyone's taste, but there has been a large amount of time and effort put into selecting these songs. There's a book of the same title that goes into more detail about the songs and their selection.

There are over 30 years of Christian music represented on the 2 CD set titled Volume I. These songs have meant so much to the fans and have had a huge impact on the industry. Some may bring back wonderful stories of how they affected lives. Included on Volume I are the staples of CCM, ground-breakers, and shakers; Rich Mullins, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and Petra to name a few. As a bonus, there are two new recordings on Volume I – Warren Barfield sings “Oh Lord You're Beautiful” (Keith Green), and Across the Sky recorded “When God Ran” (Benny Hester).
