Lojique

Process of Illumination

Illect Recordings

What Lojique would like to illuminate is the other side of hip-hop; the expression of the artist and the heart. This is a complete opposite of the usual equation of filth, drugs, and doom and gloom. To the members of Lojique (pronounced “logic”) hip-hop can be viewed as a passionate pursuit of meaning and purpose. Their simple yet complex mission is to take the gospel to the hip-hop generation in their own language.

Collectively this trio of emcee's that make up Lojique have a varied background in music. Page One (Michael Phillips) discovered an interest in hip-hop back in fourth grade and he's been refining his writing skills ever since. Nickels (Jackson Johnson) is considered the production backbone of the crew, and it's been written that he took to emceeing with his mother's turntable at age ten. Name was exposed to a wide variety of music as his step-father was a radio jockey, and he also started working the turntable at a young age. In High School he was well known for mixing great tapes, meshing sounds and rhythms professionally.
