It's hard to review Jeremy Camp's music without reviewing his life, because that is what he lays open for everyone through his lyrics. From his debut release, Jeremy shared his testimony regards to his first wife's battle with cancer and untimely death. Since his debut, Jeremy has been remarried and now has a newborn daughter in his life. Now on his third studio release, Jeremy shares about how God has restored him through this whole process.

The first track “Restored” is a great song that's beautifully written. “You have restored me from my feeble and broken soul. You have restored me.” That simple little chorus says so much and offers more hope than can be measured. The opening track is followed by 11 more songs that Camp has constructed from his personal life. Aside from the profound lyrics, a mass of producers and musicians add to the life of the songs with a commanding production.

“Restored” is an overall great album. More and more I'm convinced that Camp will continue to be a premier writer/artist much like Stephen Curtis Chapman. With all the Dove Awards, and Grammy nods to come though, I believe Camp's spiritual grounding will remain strong, and his testimony will be a powerful asset to his music ministry.
