Like the title suggests Captured Again is worship that will pull you away from worldly distractions. Dan Macaulay, an independent worship leader, has a captivating and soothing voice that is equally matched with his writing abilities. His lyrical gifts follow in the path of prolific modern worship writers Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman.

Released in October of 2004, Captured Again is a collection of songs written over a period of time dating all the way back to 1996 (“Amazing”), but mostly from 2002 – 2004. All but one song on the album is an original, and the one cover song is “Wonderful Maker”, which was written and recorded by both Matt Redman and Chris Tomlin. The choice of such a simple song (meaning not one of the mega-worship hits that most others cover) is a reflection of the integrity of the album.

Captured Again is a refreshingly authentic worship album, and Macauly’s calming voice instills quietness upon a busy mind. It is as Macaulay describes – “letting Christ capture our attention again.” There is a certain quality in this recording that just draws you out of the hectic and into the peaceful.

The CD also includes an enhanced interactive section with bonus tracks and chord charts in various keys. You can go right to the website and listen to the songs on Captured Again, and at the same time pick up a copy for yourself. If you’re longing for some quiet-time worship you will not find a more fitting and fresh CD as Captured Again.
