David Crowder Band As a form of an experiment, the David Crowder Band offers up previously released songs from “Illuminate” with a twist of electronica. I’ve not been a big fan of the remix albums that swamped store shelves like the Newsboys, TobyMac, and Rachael Lampa to name a few, but this one is a little different. The big difference is that it’s more ambient like the AptCore projects, and less of a dance mix. This mix is easier to listen too, but you still need to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. My favorites include “O Praise Him”, “Open Skies”, and “No One Like You”. The David Crowder Band is already a distinguished modern worship band, and “Sunset and Sushi” an experiment gone right. I’ve personally discovered a new partiality for their modern progressive worship. The “Sunsets and Sushi” album also releases simultaneously with David Crowder’s first book titled “Praise Habit – Finding God in Sunsets and Sushi” (NavPress). The book also focuses on worship in a non-standard conformed manner. - Ken W. |
