Eoghan Heaslip (Owen Heeslip) has been referred to as “the Matt Redman of Ireland.” Hailing from Dublin, Eoghan studied music at the Vineyard School of Worship in Vancouver, BC. His debut record is being released for the first time in the United States via Vital Records. All of the songs on this disk have a copyright of 2000 or 1999.

This is a rather subdued (in tone) modern worship and praise record. If you like Todd Proctor and Chris Tomlin you might enjoy this record of all original songs. One track, “Deeper Still,” did remind me of delirious?

While uillean pipes, flutes and whistles are listed in the records tracks, I’m sorry but I didn’t hear any of those instruments on this record. I did catch the occasional slide guitar.

The lyrics are fairly simple and straightforward as reflected in many of the titles; “Arise, King of Kings,” “Lord We Turn,” “I Lose Control in You.”
