Andy Hunter This record will go down as one of my favorites in 2005. DJ Andy Hunter releases his second record of dance oriented music. I know some Christians disapprove of dancing because dancing can be “provocative.” However, during our family’s summer vacation, I came across a very interesting article in the August 15th edition of The Patriot News of Harrisburg, PA. It told the story of Gwendolyn Holland. Her father was a strict Pentecostal minister who forbade her to dance. Some 50 years later, Holland dances at area churches and teaches Christian dance to local children on Saturdays. Today, she feels joy, not guilt. “When God gives you something, there is no shame in it at all,” she says. Likewise, Hunter’s music will make you move. Hunter shows some progress from his first disk as more of the songs have lyrics. Scriptural influences include Jeremiah 1:5 (“Wonderful”), Matthew 6: 9-13 (“Come On”), and Song of Solomon 5:1 (“To Life, To Love”). Hunter even takes a turn or two on vocals. With only six tracks, this disk is retailed as an EP. However, when you check out the running time, this EP has more music than many so-called full length CDs. Highly recommended. - Rob S. |
