I have really been sluggish this past month, and overburdened by work, school, and life in general. When I finally got around to slipping Jason Clark’s CD into the CD player, I was seriously uplifted. Surrendered & Untamed completely took me by surprise. The first thing I noticed was the smooth sound of Clark’s vocals, which reminded me a little of pop singer Sting. The overall sound of the music was similar to that of Sting as well.

Further reading led me to Clark’s ultimate goal for missions and not fame. To quote from his press release, “at this time it is not our desire to promote an album, but rather to use the album to promote the vision; a worship lifestyle.” After listening to Surrendered & Untamed I don’t think these are just words of lip service. I truly believe there is sincerity behind this statement, and it’s further demonstrated by an excellent album.
