Beckah Shae
Butterfly
Shae-Shoc Records

Inspired by Acts 20:24, Beckah has decided to faithfully follow God’s direction in her musical career. Having lived through extreme diversity since the age of 3, when her parents divorced, Beckah could have simply used her talents to please herself, but instead she decidedly choose to follow the narrow path and honor the Father with heavily R&B. Critical to this decision was the fact that through all the diversity, Beckah found peace, joy, and a dependence on God. At the age of 11, she began to express herself through song, and by divine intervention, her path eventually crossed with producer and husband Shoc. Together, Shae-Shoc has taken their passion and mission to the next level with the release of Butterfly.

Butterfly combines the bluesy R&B of Beckah’s vocals, with a predominantly hip-hop back-beat. At times the beat gets a little too repetitive and mechanical, but when you focus on the vocals it really makes a difference. At times Beckah reminds me a lot of Nicole C. Mullen. As a writer, Beckah does an amazing job of creating unique songs that are individually inspired by scripture. There is an amazing amount of original material on this CD, and I believe there is an unlimited amount of talent that has yet to be unleashed from Beckah Shae.

Beckah can be found on the web at both her official site - http://www.beckahshae.com/main.html and her myspace page - http://www.myspace.com/beckahshae.
