Story Side B is the latest addition to the diverse roster of Gotee label. The band is fresh and their songs are likely to make some movement on the radio waves. On the down side, most of the album sounds formulaic. The lyrical themes follow common lines like relationships and life in general. In their favor though the core team of founders Lu Rubino and Jordan Mohilowski write the majority of the songs on the album, and the lyrics can be very meaningful and personal. As is the case with “More to Life,” which was written about a friend of Rubino’s who tragically passed away from melanoma. So although the sound doesn’t rise above the norm there is still a lot of potential behind Story Side B.
