The familiar style of pop and gospel-rock rain down heavily on this lovely CD, yet it stands strongly self-sufficient. The rich textures of the strings and harmonies of vocalist Michael Musick breathe a lot of life into this project. “Alive In Me” passionately moves around this tapestry of sound. It doesn’t stop there either, “Here To Stay,” “Love Rain Down,” and “Long Road to Memphis” all orbit around this celestial sound.

It should be noted though, as Musick would exclaim, he is backed up by a gifted supporting band. The musical production of “Love Rain Down” includes strings, piano, and guitar hooks all blended smoothly together in a subtle but deliberate way. Roads To Rome has a decent website as well as a profile on myspace, which are both worth checking out.
