Joanna Martino
My World
Independent
Joanna, a rural young woman from the Midwest, was at a relatively young age, always reaching for the stars. She found herself fairing well through four rounds of auditions for “American Idol,” and she ultimately caught the attention of Andrew Patton. Patton recently formed a talent agency, Patton House Entertainment, and Joanna is his first artist on the company roster.
Her debut, My World, is produced around Joanna’s prevailing vocals. Several different collaborations can be found on the CD in regards to writing, including at least one track co-written by Joanna and producer Drew Cline. Some of the other contributors that I recognized were Ian Eskelin, Scott Krippayne, Billy Smiley, and Paige Lewis. Paige has herself released a similar debut that was punchy like My World.
The prevalent themes center on Christian beliefs and values, which adds to the beauty of the CD. However, the first thing I noticed (aside from Joanna’s vocals) was the superior production of the CD. There are a lot of sweet guitar hooks, and some lush strings. Through out the entire CD, you get the feeling that nothing was held back.
There are definitely people behind this CD that believe in Joanna, and from the sounds of this debut, I don’t think she is going to let them down. For more in depth information, check out Joanna’s official web site at http://joannamartino.com.
