Paul Baloche Released in early April, “A Greater Song” is Paul Baloche’s latest offering of grand congregational praise and worship. Baloche is well known for penning, “Open the Eyes of My Heart,” and “Above All” (w/ Lenny LeBlanc). Writing for this CD, Baloche teamed up with other worship artists like Matt Redman, Graham Kendrick, Benton Brown, and Sara Groves. The CD was also recorded live at Baloche’s home church, Community Christian Fellowship located in Lindale, Texas. Sara Groves and Kathryn Scott make a guest appearance on several tracks. Baloche’s name alone is probably not as recognizable as his worship songs, but if your congregation has a more contemporary praise and worship band, then I am sure you have heard/sang his songs. I know that our worship pastor has already incorporated “Rising” into our services. The arrangements are probably very different – or at least a little more restrained – but the heart of the song is still the same. The sure thing about this CD is that it will elevate your desire to worship. It is recorded as it is best presented – live. Some of the most uplifting tracks include the title song, “Rising,” “What Can I Do,” and the country-western fused “Thank You Lord.” - Ken W. |
