The title of this disk can be a pinch misleading as the songs aren’t necessarily meant for just the sacrament of Holy Communion. According to its PR material, these songs are useful for personal devotions, small group worship or even for the peaceful moments at mega churches, that is for times of communion between “God and man.”

This CD contains eleven previously unreleased tracks and three re-recorded Hillsong songs. A majority of the songs are somber and contemplative, with just a vocalist and simple arrangements and instrumentation.

“Nothing But the Blood of Jesus” is very pretty but how many different versions of this song does one need? I did like the uplifting “Oh the Blood” but the electric guitar bridge on “With Christ” seemed a bit over the top and out of place on this disk.
