Hyperstatic Union Hyperstatic Union is the first band on the new Rocketown imprint, RTK Music. Their uncommon style of fusing melody, soul, funk, and rock make them a very out of the ordinary band. Thematically, “Lifegiver” is very gospel orientated and when you combine that with their interesting blend of music, the result is quite spirited. Although the funk is what really stands out, their progressive-guitar-driven sound is more prevalent across the whole album. Some key tracks include “Lifegiver,” “Can’t Leave it Alone,” and “Child of His Grace.” Aside from the catchy melodic funk-rock, I was very impressed when reading through the lyrics. I found that they gracefully encompassed many aspects of Christ-like living. Whether it is singing about grace or fighting the good fight, or even more interesting, co-dependency (“Now That It’s Over”). The topics are very mature and relevant for youth for sure, and I wouldn’t exclude the older gen from needing to face the same challenges. I highly recommend checking out Hyperstatic Union, especially if you’re looking for quality content with a catchy sound. It’s no wonder they have caught the attention of members of Third Day who are starting Consuming Fire Productions, as well as Rocketown execs who are expanding out from their usual repertoire. - Ken W. |
