The Turning is the second rock outfit appearing on the newly formed RTK Music label.  This young band is comprised of former worship leaders who are all Christian music enthusiasts looking for ways to use their God given talents.  Together the band mates have been working hard to get to the point of using music both as an occupation (of sorts), and as a means of influence for the edification of others.   

There is a lot of variety on the album although the main drive is guitar driven sound.  Some of the key tracks however deviate from this and give the album a very well rounded sound.  Some examples include the piano-melody “Lift You Down,” and the acoustic ballad “Escape,” which is then followed up by “Everything Matters” which is more like Switchfoot with a guitar driven sound.

With all of the new rock bands emerging right now, fans will have a lot of options to choose from, and I think that The Turning is worthy of investigating further.  You can find more information on their myspace web site at http://www.myspace.com/theturning.
