The Longing The Longing front man, Jason Ingram, is well known in Christian music circles for his writing credits. Either alone or in partnership, Ingram has contributed to many artists career successes, including Anthony Evans, Bebo Norman, Building 429, Paul Colman, Rebecca St. James, and Sonicflood. I do recall that Jason even stepped in for Rick Heil (Sonicflood) at least once on stage. Today, Ingram is heading up a cast of well-known players under the name of The Longing. Their debut CD is a refreshing blast of modern worship that takes you back a few years ago when the genre really boomed. The spirited worship on “Heal This Land” is reflective of the bands desire to lead others in worship. It’s new, fresh, and overall a powerful CD that makes you want to listen more intently to its purpose. The band name itself gives you insight into the heart of the band, and how they share a desire with us to have a longing to worship God in a truly authentic way. The album is as I said, strong overall, however, there are a few highlights including a guest appearance by Christy Nockles on “My Offering,” and a lovely rendition of “My Jesus, I Love Thee.” - Ken W. |
