Dalton Upon hearing the opening chords to the first track “City Lights,” I knew I was in for a good listen. Fans of Building 429 may like this debut record from this Texas rock-pop band Brothers Preston and Spencer Dalton were inspired to go into music after watching a performance by delirious? Preston says, “Now we can see that it was God who was preparing our hearts for this. I remember looking over at Spencer and was like, ‘Man, this is what we need to be doing.” According to the band’s PR material, the only problem was that at the time neither played an instrument. They’ve learned their lessons well. That delirious? influence can be heard in the swirling guitars of “600 ft.,” while “Streets” has a cool atmospheric fade-out. “Breathing In” would fit in on Plumb’s “Chaotic Resolve.” The lyrics are generally positive and full of hope and renewal, but other than one reference to Jesus in “Hold Me Now,” generic. - Rob S. |
