Rev. Robert Lowe and Generations “Together Again” Koch Records 19 tracks @ 69:47
The Rev. Lowe has been the pastor of Mount Moriah AME Church in Queens, NY, for the past 16 years. This is the second release from his church-based choir, Generations. If you like Gary Anglin, L. Spenser Smith and T.D. Jakes, you will love this record. I never get tired of listening to big gospel groups.
The rousing and uplifting “Appointed End” sets the pace for the rest of the record. The group’s rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” features a nice R&B guitar and old-school keys. The foot-stomping “Hallelujah Anyhow” has some snazzy horns and wailing vocals. The bonus track “Remember Me” is very nice.
Most of the songs here are original compositions and a scripture is cited for each song.
Recommended.
