            This is an interesting compilation of 12 unsigned independent Christian artists.  It’s supposed to be the first installment in a series that intends to “connect independent artists nationwide with their cause-driven mission to impact the world.”

            Chris Thomason, president and co-founder of Indelible Creative Group, says “Each of these artists is very focused on what they are doing and why they are doing it-they are ministers before they are musicians.  What they do is not easy. A lot of these artists have families and other obligations but still, they are tireless in responding to God’s call on their lives.”

            One of my favorite tracks is Ronnie Freeman’s “Breakaway.”  Ronnie says it’s a song “that dares each of us to turn away from the temporal and sprint toward a new life in Christ.”  I also liked Heather Powers “Undone,” a piano driven pop ballad that reminded me of Nicole Nordeman.

            Several Velocity live touring events are in the works for fall, 2006.  This release is a great idea and I hope the label keeps it up.
