“The Invitation” is a mixed media CD that includes music and short gospel presentations by pastor and author Rick Warren (The Purpose Driven Life).  The messages are followed up with a relevant song by some of today’s leading CCM artist including Pocket Full of Rocks, Joel Engle, Casting Crowns, and Amy Grant.  Themes from the narration follow the lead of Warren’s popular book.  They include meaning, prayer, God’s promise, and why we are here (our purpose as a follower of Christ). 

The music is great, and the narration is an interesting tool for evangelism, but the most interesting aspect of this project is in the marketing of the album.  The CD is being sold in bulk (boxes of 20) at a price of $1.00 per CD.  Royalties from artists, labels, songwriters and publishers are being waived in order to make this happen.  Additionally, you can download the invitation for free at www.maranathamusic.com or songtouch.com. 

The motivation of such a project further facilitates our desire to be fed from God’s word, which will truly help us to leave a meaningful and purposeful life.
