Tracing Days “Control” Full Color Records 12 tracks @ 40:49
No less an authority than CCM Magazine has said rock is the current favored genre in Christian music. Here’s yet another rock release. Fans of Sanctus Real, Switchfoot and the secular Snow Patrol will like this band from Bozeman, Montana.
My favorite track is “Printed.” Beyond the U2-like guitars, lyrics include “Jesus, heal us, no sweeter name in heaven, no sweeter name on earth.” “Life Outside” was another interesting listen.
Some of the “real life” topics the band covers include observations on reality, pride (“Inside of Me”), surrender and a variety of life’s struggles. Lyrics for all of the songs are on the band’s web site. The unlisted bonus track is a quasi-retro, sorta techno instrumental.
Lead singer Lonnie Bos says, “Connection with our audience has always been key, but more than just entertaining them through music, we hope to get them thinking and help them identify God’s fingerprints over the situations in their lives.”
