The latest solo release from the Newsboys bassist Phil Joel is very much a homegrown project.  Joel wrote and produced the record, then recorded it at home in his garage and started to distribute it from home (with the help of his wife Heather). Fortunately for the music fan, Indelible saw fit to partner with the Joel’s and provide them with a much wider access to the market. 

The album is a genuine introspective look into the life of Phil Joel as he lays his deepest most personal parts of his life out in each track.  The theme of the album leans heavily towards the development of their new deliberatePeople ministry.  Aside from the CD, Phil and his wife Heather offer testimony and encouragement to spend deliberate time with God, to be closer in your relationship with the Lord.  On the deliberatepeople.com web site there are video clips, audiocast files, and Bible reading guides.

I have been looking forward to Phil Joel’s next solo release for so long, but I never imagined that it could come with such great reward.  This goes beyond his amazing ability to sing and write songs.  This CD goes beyond his and his mates’ abilities to entertain and wow youth groups with their impressive repertoire of anthems.  This CD and its purpose go straight to the heart – the heart of worship, adoration, and devotion.
