Annie Moses Band

Bethlehem, House of Bread

Man Alive Records

“Bethlehem, House of Bread” is the latest release from the Wolaver family, merging their highly acclaimed chamber pop sound with Christmas classics like “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” and the spiritual styling of “Mary Had A Baby.”  Furthermore, the CD features new original songs by the family, including the tender “Little Baby,” the traditional folk “Christmas on Cripple Creek,” and the reflective “Holy Christmas Day (A Christmas Communion Hymn).”

The new project is available on CD, DVD, and piano/vocal Folio.  Personally, I would suggest the DVD.  The music is inspiring and the only thing I could think of that would be better is watching them work their instrumental magic.  Although the three front leaders of the band (Annie, Alex, and Benjamin) are all Julliared trained musicians and they are more than worthy of admiration, their purpose is set on glorifying God with their talents and not fulfilling their own egos.  When not on the road touring the group works seminars and camps where they teach others the gift of music.

“Bethlehem, House of Bread” is widely available either from their official web site or from several mainstream distributors like Wal-Mart.com, iTunes, and Rhapsody.com.  “Bethlehem, House of Bread” is the premier Christmas release for 2006.  The marvelous sounds of the strings along with Annie Wolaver’s celestial voice really make the Christmas spirit shine in these songs.
