The Christmas Hope

Integrity

The 2001 release of “The Christmas Shoes” was monumental for Newsong.  The song inspired a spin off of books and a TV Special.  The third book in the text series is titled The Christmas Hope, and it was this book that in turn inspired the newest album release by the same title.

“The Christmas Hope” is an uplifting holiday offering with a classic Newsong sound.  The CD also boasts a stellar list of guest artists including a duet with Rachael Lampa on “The Christmas Blessing.”  This song is the second in the Christmas Shoes trilogy of songs, “The Christmas Shoes” (Acoustic String Version, redone on this album), “The Christmas Blessing,” and “The Christmas Hope.”

Aside from the shoes trilogy, there is much to be celebrated on the album.  Stand out tracks include “The Little Drummer Boy,” which features the drum corps from Middle Tennessee State University, and the Nashville String Machine appears on “The Song of Christmas,” and “What a Wonderful World.”

“The Christmas Hope” is a wonderful holiday album, the songs are reflective, the vocals are harmonious, and the arrangements are lively and creative.
