Song of the Bride

Independent

As an independent worship artist, Wendy Jepsen has recently released her sophomore project titled “Song of the Bride.”  Wendy’s first release, “Sanctuary,” was an acoustical project of gospel inspired worship.

On “Song of the Bride” she kicks it up a notch from her debut, with more of a full-band sound, and more choruses and harmonies.  The focus however still remains on her vocals and the guitar.  One of my favorites is her remake of “Be Thou My Vision,” to which she stays true to the classic hymn with her own arrangement.  She follows this up with an original track titled “Be My Vision,” inspired in part by Paul’s letter to the Ephesians.

From the title, you would think the whole album centers around Songs of Solomon, but that’s not the case, however, there is one track, the title track “Song of the Bride” that she dedicates to Song of Solomon, Hosea, and Revelations 5.

Overall, “Song of the Bride” is a very inspirational and magical collection. Wendy’s music ministry is a reflection of personal worship that is taken from her quiet time with the Lord.
